Attended Scattering Of Ashes At Sea

Private Attended Scattering (1–6 Guests)

Experience a heartfelt and dignified ash scattering at sea ceremony aboard our luxurious 37’ Grady-White Express vessel, one of the most respected and comfortable memorial boats on the water. Our private sea burial services are designed to honor your loved one’s final wishes in a serene and respectful ocean setting just a few miles offshore of Moriches Inlet, Long Island.

Luxury Vessel for Ash Scattering Ceremonies

Your private sea burial journey takes place aboard our spacious, high-performance Grady-White Express 370—a world-renowned vessel known for comfort, safety, and one of the smoothest rides in its class. Outfitted with all essential amenities, this cremation boat charter is ideal for families of up to 6 guests seeking an intimate, peaceful farewell.

Docked just one nautical mile from Moriches Inlet, our ash scattering boat departs around 8:00 AM or at a time that fits your needs. Early mornings are typically chosen for calmer seas and more comfortable conditions, especially for those who are less experienced with ocean travel.

Food, drink and photos are the sole responsibility of the family. The Urn if you choose, must be biodegradable, otherwise sprinkling them in the ocean while saying a few solemn words will suffice.

Total turnaround time for the whole affair will take around two hours for a comfortable, relaxing and safe journey.

Rates for services are outlined below:

1-6 Passengers up to (2 hours from dock to dock) $550. Each additional half hour or part of $275

The captain will be in command of the vessel at all times. What the captain recommends, happens. We want you to enjoy your voyage.

Restricted Items: What Not to Bring and Not allowed on board: Illegal substances (nonprescription drugs or illicit drugs, medical or recreational marijuana (Even if legal-it’s not legal on the high seas), NO weapons of any kind are to be brought aboard the boat. Violators of this policy will be returned to the dock immediately and the trip cancelled without refund.

WEATHER POLICY:

Our most widely question asked is about the weather. We get a basic read on the extended forecast about 4-5 days prior to your booked date, but the final decision is made 24 hours prior to departure. We do everything in our power to stay in close contact with you in case we need to mutually amend a date or allow for mother-nature to run her course. Rain is not usually a problem, heavy wind or rough sea conditions could pose a safety hazard—we want you to remember the event not the weather, so we carefully plan to make sure that all systems are a go about 24 hours before departure so you have the best experience at sea possible.

Your safety at sea is our prime area of focus and concern. Should poor weather be forecasted or occur during your charter period, the Captain reserves the right to cancel and/or postpone the sailing for the safety of the passengers and crew. Deposits are 100% refundable in this instance.

*Please Note: For services of more than 7 people or more, Long Island Boat Charters can accommodate scatterings or memorial services or get togethers upwards of 100 people through one of our affiliate partners from Montauk to Manhattan. Call for Rates and availability.
